How about this statement?

"The president listened too much to the Vice President . . . Of course, the president bears the ultimate responsibility, but he was very badly served by both the Vice President and, most of all, the Secretary of Defense.  Rumsfeld will go down in history, along with McNamara, as one of the worst secretaries of defense in history."

Looks like he's ready to run for President.  Creating some distance between himself and the administration.

Andrew Sullivan says this may be the last line of defense for the President (not his view, but he thinks others may try to sell it)- he's a good guy who got bad advice.

The Pilgrim doesn't buy that, and the American people shouldn't.

Remember McCain's words: "Of course, the president bears the ultimate responsibility..."
