Carbon dioxide emissions in the U.S. have risen by 18 per cent during the 1990-2004 period, a recent study by an advocacy group has indicated. The state-wise study by the U.S. Public Interest Research Group showed that CO2 emissions came down in only two states -- Delaware and Massachusetts -- and the District of Columbia, while Texas and Nevada headed the list where the emissions grew at the highest rate. The group used data from the U.S. department of energy for the study.
And the problem continues to grow, as we make no serious national effort to deal with the looming crisis.

This is Quartny Rowe-Bultinck. I completely agree that the CO2 emissions are getting completely out of hand, not just in the U.S., but also globally. What do you think of the recent Supreme Court decision about emissions and the EPA? Do you think that it will actually put into action regulations that will help us see a decrease in the emissions?
Also, in other news, I was just offered an assistantship for a PhD program at the University of Toledo to work on Photovoltaic research! I am visiting next week, but I am pretty sure I will accept their offer. They have a strong program in alternative energy research.
