One of the missing

Alex Jimenez and his wife Yaderline- when he was home after his first deployment in Iraq.

Alex Jimenez and his wife Yaderlin Jimenez pose at Fort Drum after returning from his first deployment in Iraq

Let us hope that the treatment he receives- for his sake and for the sake of his wife- at the hands of his captors is not in line with the sort of treatment that the Bush Administration and several of the current Republican candidates for president appear to condone (check this post by Andrew Sullivan).  Do we want our soldiers waterboarded- or worse- when captured in Iraq?

From President Bush's (self-proclaimed) favorite philosopher, with emphasis added:
Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." (Matthew 22:36-40)
